Small Apples

A good friend asked me this weekend while dining at the Saigon Grill in the Upper Westside... "Gregg... five years... tell me." Upon reflecting upon that a bit later I think a fairly accurate answer simply might have been "an airport."

At some other point this weekend while in Manhattan, I heard someone say (maybe on television) that "a goal without a plan is no goal at all." Or something along the lines of "is destined to fail." That made me think back to the five year question I'd been asked. I can be all hot about my goals and wishes that stem from both dissatisfaction and dreams, but it makes sense that unless I can answer a question about what the "plan" is going to be, those goals may not amount to much.

So I'm left with this: My new goal is to make some plans. But wait.... never mind.

I have once again had a fabulous weekend beginning and ending with an airport. Currently, as I type, I'm ever-so privileged to be consuming the luxuries that come with a Crown Room membership with Delta. Even platinum elite members aren't given this - everyone has to pay to get in here. Everyone that is but... yours truly. Sweet talking and being sincerely kind and grateful can get me, at least, a long way. And Betty Lou's generosity out front will come back and bless her many times over, I'm sure of that.

Finally, some highlights of the weekend: Seeing Brad and Yo-Yo on stage at Carnegie. Two Matt Damon sightings, three Matt Damon pictures. One James Spader sighting. Three Stage Deli visits, two corned beef on ryes. Quality time with the family. One great walk with my mom in Central Park. One great walk with my brother around Manhattan. Two Stumptown cappuccinos at the Ace Hotel. Southern Style Curry at Sri Pra Phai in Queens. Celebrating gold status with Christina.

Tomorrow: back to "work." And a start to making some real plans.
